Crustose “گلسنگ”

“On Slippery Grounds”
Evening of Open Studio & Performance

Title of Piece: Crustose گلسنگ

Artist Statement:
Crustose is a type of lichen that grows as a thin, sticky crust on surfaces such as rocks, bark, or soil. These lichens are completely attached to the surface and cannot be removed without damaging the surface. In this project, I see it as a metaphor for the presence of ideologies in the world; Ideologies that are deeply intertwined with the current situation and the consequences of breaking free from this phenomenon, such as crustose, which is tied to the body and survival. This experience and hypothesis are present in both of my works. In my performance in Live Art, I challenge my body in the presence of this phenomenon, and in Open Studio, I am in the presence of a past in the present.
